Dallas Renegades at Seattle Dragons Preview
The Dallas Renegades had their season on the brink. They were a trendy pick to go deep into this XFL season, but after a clunker in Week 1, they needed a response. Nothing was going as planned in the 1st half of their game against the Los Angeles Wildcats, as it was a 3-3 snoozer going into halftime.
The thing that separates Dallas from the rest of the league is that both their QB and RB have real, legit NFL experience. Under center is Landry Jones, formerly of the Pittsburgh Steelers, who made his return to the field in Week 2, throwing for 305 yards and a Touchdown.
The 2nd half was an exciting affair, with LA taking a 9-3 lead after the break. Fast forward to the 4th quarter, with Dallas leading 19-18. Cameron Artis-Paine took a handoff and rumbled for 17 yards to ice the game and a 25-18 Renegade victory, their first of the season.
Artis-Paine had a big game in his own right, as he rushed 99 yards and 2 TDs on only 14 carries. The 1-2 punch of Paine and former Dallas Cowboys, Lance Dunbar, will be a load for opposing teams to deal with as the season wears on.
Seattle is coming off a 17-9 victory over the Tampa Bay Vipers to even their record at 1-1 on the season. They did it by rushing for over 100 yards on the ground, and making timely defensive stops. Their defense suffocated the Vipers offense, causing them to make mistake after mistake, leading to 3 big turnovers. The turnovers were the difference in the game, and the reason the Dragons aren’t sitting at 0-2 right now.
If Seattle hopes to pull the upset, they’re going to have to control the clock and keep Landry Jones and co’ off of the field. They did that against the Vipers, and even had a Pick-6 to help their cause. Running the ball effectively will be the difference in improving to 2-1 or falling to 1-2 for the Dragons in this home matchup.

Dallas Renegades at Seattle Dragons Prediction
Although they’re playing on the road in this game, I think the Renegades found their formula last week. The return of Landry Jones is huge for their offensive prospects, and the 1-2 punch of Artis-Paine and Dunbar in the backfield packs serious NFL experience.
The Dragons will keep this game close thanks to their solid defense, but in order to win, they’re going to have to control the clock. I don’t see that happening again this week, as I think the Renegades will cover 4.5, and win this by the score of 26-17.
