It has been the talk of the past couple of months. Who will be the man stepping up for the Denver Broncos in the quarterback role on September 12?
The battle between Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater has been extremely interesting. With less than a month until the start of the regular season, it’s not often you are left unsure of who will be starting as quarterback.
After the first five practices, Lock had a decent lead over Bridgewater. The gap has since narrowed considerably and we are all left wondering who Vic Fangio favors.
This uncertainty isn’t helping anyone in the Broncos camp. It can’t be good for the confidence of both Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater. Furthermore, it’s not too reassuring for the rest of the Denver camp ahead of an important season.
From a Drew Lock standpoint, the inability to breakaway from the levels of a quarterback ranked bottom-5 last year is concerning. If you are looking at the positives, you would hope that this close rivalry between the two quarterbacks will spur Drew Lock on to become the top quarterback everyone tipped him as in previous seasons.
What do the sportsbooks think?
To add fuel to this heated debate, DraftKings have released odds on who will take Denver Broncos 1st snap in the 2021/22 NFL regular season. Here are the current odds:
- Drew Lock -130
- Teddy Bridgewater +125
- Any other QB +600
As these odds suggest, Drew Lock is in pole position to start vs Giants on September 12. However, it’s far from settled. Will Teddy Bridgewater raise his performances ahead of the new season? Or will another quarterback enter the mix?
