Weekend Sports Roundup: Mystery bettor wins $1.17 million on the NFL!

We take a look at this weekend’s big sports betting stories, including a $1.17 million win on Sunday.

The baseball season came to an end on Wednesday night after a Game 7 victory for the Washington Nationals against the Houston Astros. We’re upset that the season is over, but have still been spoiled this weekend with loads of NFL, NHL and NBA action. As always, a sports-packed weekend meant big betting at the sportsbooks.

Week 9 of the NFL saw the Patriots suffer their first loss of the season at the hands of Lamar Jackson’s high-flying Ravens. The Los Angeles Chargers also earned a shock victory against the Green Bay Packers, and the Miami Dolphins snapped a 10-game losing streak (dating back to last December) by defeating the New York Jets.

One mystery New Jersey bettor took advantage of the Football results to win a huge $1.17 million from three Sunday bets. Here’s what he wagered:

$410,000 on Steelers -1 vs. Colts (to win $360,000)

$495,000 on Chargers +4 (to win $450,000)

$400,000 on Ravens +3 (to win $363,000)

That’s $1,174,600 all in a day’s work! We can only dream, right?

One player at DraftKings this weekend wagered $17.70 on an 11-leg NFL parlay, which included Titans vs. Panthers (-3.5), Bears vs. Eagles (-5) and Browns vs. Broncos (+4). All 11 legs hit and this bettor became $20k richer!

College Football this weekend saw a PointsBet customer bank $9,177 after a 12-leg parlay win. This included Oregon, Tulane and Tennessee moneylines.

We went 2-1 on our Friday basketball picks, which included another defeat for the Warriors at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs. We think they will definitely miss Steph Curry as he sits out for at least three months.
