Wag goes through Tuesday’s soccer schedule and picks the best bets from each of the UEFA European Championship Qualifying fixtures.
Matchday 4 of the 2020 European Championship Qualifiers continue on Tuesday. We improved our betting record from Fridayβs games predicting eight out of the thirteen games correctly, and it would have been nine correct predictions if I kept my mouth shut about the Finland Bosnia over. Just to get you up to speed, Turkey shocked the world as they beat World Cup winners France. Croatia managed to hold Gareth Bale scoreless after beating Wales. Northern Ireland have won their first three games in Group C beating Estonia, and everybody else pretty much took care of business. There is no real eye candy for Tuesdayβs games as I look to continue profiting off of my brain. Maybe the Hungary-Wales game could be interesting to tune in with Group E looking too close to call. But we arenβt halfway through the qualifiers yet. Make sure you get these bets in because Summer is in the air and the next set of games wonβt be played until September.
Kazakhstan 4:0 San Marino
Kazakhstan will host San Marino as both teams look to make some sort of noise in these qualifiers. Kazakhstan had a tough challenge paying a visit to Belgium as they were shut out 3-0. There isnβt really much Kazakhstan could do against the golden boys, but still managed to get 5 shots off with one shot hitting the target. San Marino is still looking for their first in these qualifiers after being routed yet again. Itβs hard to gain some momentum when the first goal you concede is an own goal. Not that is a huge factory for San Marino as they have seen the ball roll into their net 16 times in 3 games! I told you on Saturday to bet the under in San Marinoβs game and boy did I feel foolish. PICK: Over 3.5 at (-157) with Sugarhouse.
Azerbaijan 0:3 Slovakia
Azerbaijan looks to get their first point in Group E as they host Slovakia on Tuesday. Azerbaijan produced a good fight against Hungary as they had more of the possession in Saturday’s game. That also could be because they had to kick off the ball three times because they lost to Hungary 1-3. Slovakia played a friendly on Friday against the middle east nation of Jordan, beating them swiftly 5-1. This will be the first time Azerbaijan and Slovakia meet, and Slovakia is the heavy favorite going into this game. Azerbaijan was put in a tough group and any point they could get along the way should be a huge success. Unfortunately, they will have to wait until September to try again because Slovakia will look to be on top of Group E. PICK: Slovakia Money Line at (-122) with SugarHouse.
Greece 2:0 Armenia
Greece hosts Armenia in their Group J match on Tuesday. Greece took a beating by the Italians at home whereas the Armenians took care of business at home against Liechtenstein. Greece should be the heavy favorite in this games. This is also a team that the Armenians had some good matches against. Although they did not manage to score one goal in the four times the two nations played each other, it has been a closely contested game. Greece beat Armenia 3 times with two of those scores being decided by a goal, and they tied in 2008. The oddsmakers didnβt make this a fun game to bet on, but Iβm here to make your pocket heavier. PICK: Under 2.5 at (-180) with Sugarhouse.
Belgium 4:0 Scotland
Scotland will be hopping over the North Sea on Tuesday as they visit Belgium in their fourth game in these qualifiers. Belgium took care of business on Saturday as they hosted Kazakhstan and swiftly beat them 3-0. Scotland won their second game in a row after beating Cyprus. Andy Robertson took a short break after winning the Champions League with Liverpool, only to score for Scotland in their 2-1 victory. Scotland hasnβt gotten the goals they have been expecting against San Marino and Cyprus detailing the lack of skill they have up top. It would be a tough task for Scotland to beat the golden boys of Belgium but Iβm more interested how their defense will shape up. PICK: Over 3.5 at (+133) with Sugarhouse.
Albania 0:0 Moldova
Albania host Moldova as the two teams fight for fourth place. Albania conceded a first-half goal on Saturday which proved to be enough for Iceland to pick up three points. It only took eight minutes for Moldova to score their winning goal after beating the small nation of Andorra 1-0. Moldova got their first clean sheet and will look to continue that flow into Tuesday. I donβt know too much about either team, but I have won both my bets when they are featured in a game. Since there wasnβt a result that ended in a tie on Saturday, Iβm predicting this will be a tie game as well! PICK: Tie at (+260) with SugarHouse.
Liechtenstein 0:3 Finland
Finland comes off a home victory against Bosnia as they look to win their third straight qualifying game against Liechtenstein. Finlandβs star striker Pukki but two in the back of the net as he will most likely continue his scoring streak on Tuesday. Liechtenstein are still waiting to score their first goal of these qualifiers as they have conceded a whopping 11 goals in 3 games after their 3-0 loss to Armenia. Itβs no secret that Finland will win this game so the trick is to predict the right amount of goals being scored. I bet the Over in Liechtensteinβs last game and will be doing the same for this Tuesday match. PICK: Over 2.5 at (-129) with Sugarhouse.
Russia 3:0 Cyprus
Russia had a great confidence boosting game against San Marino as they look to carry that energy at home when Cyprus comes to town on Tuesday. Cyprus come off a crazy game against Scotland where they thought that rescued themselves a point. Cyprus will have to find answers for scoring machine Dzyuba as he netted four goals against San Marino. Although it is San Marino, itβs still scoring four goals in 90 Minutes. No, itβs not a βLewandowski scoring five goals in 15 minutesβ type of hype. But the confidence is what matters. This will be a high scoring game, for the Russians because the big guy upstairs always watches. Iβm not talking about God, we all know who watches over Russia. PICK: Over 2.5 at (-141) with SugarHouse.
Belarus 1:2 Northern Ireland
Belarus visits Group C leaders Northern Ireland on Tuesday after a strong, but ineffective game against four-time world cup winner Germany. Northern Ireland continues their recent winning ways after they won their third game in succession in Estonia on Saturday. Although Northern Ireland allowed Estonia to get their first goal of the tournament, I donβt think it will affect the defensive mentality, even though Estonia was winning for a majority of the game. There was not much showing of Belarus in their last game but will be looking to make some noise, and get some points, against the northern Irishmen. Iβm going to go with Group leaders Northern Ireland because their confidence and form will carry them to the finish line. PICK: Northern Ireland Money Like at (+180) with Sugarhouse.
Hungary 1:0 Wales
Hungary comes off a comfortable win after visiting Azerbaijan on Saturday. Two goals form Orban helped Hungary keep their spot on top of Group E. Gareth Bale and Wales werenβt able to take advantage of a shaky Croatia team after an own goal was conceded from Lawrence in the first half. Hungary will be looking at the Group E standings to help motivate their Euro 2020 goals. On the other hand, Wales need to get a result from this game if they want to be within three points of Croatia or Hungary. This is probably the most exciting game to come out of Tuesdayβs slate of games with Hungary being victorious. I donβt think Wales has the defensive organization to handle the front line of Hungary, and the fact that Hungary is at home because the home team won nine games on Saturday. PICK: Hungary Money Line at (+190) with SugarHouse.
Andorra 0:8 France
Andorra looks to score their first goal of the qualifiers as they try to avoid being goalless against France with nations San Marino and Liechtenstein. France comes off a shocking defeat away in Turkey as they look to be three points clear form Scotland. Good thing the World Cup winners wonβt have a tough task when they visit Andorra. Combined with Frances skill and the attitude Mbappe has after a defeat, this could be a world record setting score line for the French and the Andorians. PICK: Over 4.5 at (+128) with Sugarhouse.
Iceland 1:0 Turkey
Turkey head North on Tuesday to face Iceland after an incredible victory against a World Cup winning French team. The Turks shot the ball a miserable four times, but two of those shots managed to trickle into the back of the net on Saturday. Iceland took care of business at home against Albania as they rack up six points in Group H only trailing France on goal differential. Turkey is flying high on confidence and itβs such bad timing for Iceland as it could affect their Euro 2020 chances if Turkey goes through. Iceland wants to continue their incredible football run as their story did start in Euro 2020. But Iβm going to stick with the home teams on Tuesday and will be rooting and betting for the Vikings. PICK: Iceland Money Line at (+200) with Sugarhouse.
Germany 4:0 Estonia
The mighty Germans will play host to Estonia on Tuesday. Germany comes off a typical German away at Belarus as Estonia lost at home to group leaders Northern Ireland. The Germans will be cool, calm, and collected as they will be experimenting with the lineup. Estonia is just unlucky that they have to play Germany. There isnβt much to it in this game besides betting the over or under to make it interesting. Germany wonβt be focused on goal scoring. PICK: Under 4.5 at (-175) with Sugarhouse.
Italy 2:1 Bosnia and Herzegovina
The Italians look to continue their dominating performances against Bosnia on Tuesday. The Boot nation is in control of Group J after beating a shaky Greece team away scoring three goals. The Bosnians look to pick up their heads after a somewhat surprising loss to Finland. Al in all, Italy will be dominant in this game as Insigne and youngster Moise Kean look to be on the scorerβs sheet. The oddsmakers have given us a gift for this matchup. PICK: Over 2.5 at (+100) with SugarHouse
