Here’s my first three-bet MLB picks article! I’m excited to help all of you readers with some baseball picks. For me personally, I’m a guy that loves looking at starting pitching. That really helps me determine picks. Numbers and analytics will always be featured in my picks and in my future picks. In my future articles, I will usually have a favorite moneyline, spread, and O/U pick.
Enjoy and good luck!!
Orioles @ Mariners 4:10pm
With my spread pick, I’m looking at the Mariners -1.5 (+128) hosting the dreadful Baltimore Orioles. The Mariners will be throwing Tommy Milone (1-1 3.03 ERA) on the mound against Andrew Cashner (6-3 4.48 ERA). Milone, who has made three appearances out of the bullpen has pitched somewhat well for the Mariners this season. Cashner has 25 percent of the Orioles’ wins this season. The spread is putting a lot of weight on Cashner to get another win. Cashner has struggled against the Mariners with a 2-5 record and a 4.22 ERA in 11 games (10 started.)
It’s the battle of the bad teams, but the Mariners will come out on top in this one as long as Milone gives them a good five innings.
PICK: Mariners -1.5 (+128)
Astros @ Yankees 7:15pm
Houston vs New York Yankees
We’ve got a pitching match-up between Wade Miley (6-4 3.30 ERA) vs. Mashiro Tanaka (5-5 3.23 ERA).
Here’s the deal: The line is way too Tanaka heavy after his last start. Before his last game against the Rays where he picked up his two hit shutout, Tanaka surrendered four runs in his previous three starts. Wade Miley has had a better May than June so far but he’s had a quality
start in five of his last nine starts in May and June. The Astros are above .500 by 20 games this season.
Crazy odds for a World Series Contender. Take the underdogs on the road.
PICK: +147 Houston
Braves @ Nationals 7:15pm
For my Over/Under selection, I’m looking at a line of O/U 10.5 featuring the Atlanta Braves and Washington Nationals. Mike Foltynewicz (2-5 5.53 ERA) is on the mound vs Anibal Sanchez (3-6 3.84 ERA).
Sanchez has been pretty dominant in the month of June. Sanchez has pitched into the 6th inning each of the last three games while allowing two runs in his last game (but only one run in the other two.) For the Braves, Foltynewicz is coming off a solid performance against the Phillies giving up just one run through six innings.
And the line is double digits?
PICK: Braves/Nationals UNDER 10.5 -116
