Depending on your agenda, your hotel could be anything from the most important factor to an afterthought when booking a trip to Vegas.
With so much to do and see, it could be that all youβre looking for is a place to get a few hoursβ sleep in between shows, parties and gambling sessions.
On the other hand, you want to be near the action, and many Vegas hotels offer amenities that can, at the very least, improve your stay and in some cases will make or break your trip.
With that in mind, we looked to name the Worst Hotels in Vegas in several different categories. Do you agree or disagree with these selections?
Worst Hotel in Vegas (Location): Green Valley Ranch Resort and Spa Amenities

It delivers what it promises: a resort atmosphere with plenty of impressive amenities. We’re definitely not saying it’s the worst hotel in Vegas.
But if you want to experience the lights, the splendor and the buzz surrounding Las Vegas and the Strip, Green Valley isnβt the place for you.
This hotel is a solid 15-20-minute drive to the Strip even without traffic, meaning itβs not even an option for people traveling without a car.
The pools, arcades, and open spaces make Green Valley popular for family vacations or anyone traveling with kids. If youβre heading to Vegas for a bachelor party or a guysβ/girlsβ weekend, however, keep searching!
Worst Hotel in Vegas (Cleanliness): OYO Hotel

Formerly the Hooters Casino Hotel, you canβt beat the location (directly across from MGM Grand) or price (some reports say rooms are available for under $30 per night at certain times of the year).
But those same reports indicate that sometimes, you get what you pay for.
A recent user review and TikTok video called the OYO the βworst hotel in Vegasβ. The reviewer confirmed that while the room cost only $19 per night before taxes and fees, she was promptly greeted upon arrival by getting stuck in a dirty elevator.

Arriving in her room, she encountered broken furniture, loose power cords, clogged sinks, and less-than-ideal showering facilities. Floating garbage in the pool and a poorly timed fire alarm only added to the bad experience.
However, proving that everyone is ultimately in Vegas for a good time, the review concludes by applauding OYOβs βcheap drinks and $1 blackjackβ.
As always, bargain-basement deals are βbuyer bewareβ. Not exactly sure what @travelruby expected for $19 per night!
Worst Hotel in Vegas (Affordability): The Venetian

You canβt deny the luxury the five-star Venetian provides, with king-size beds and great views of downtown Las Vegas. Inside the hotels are over 40 restaurants, plus private spas and fitness centers.
However, if youβre looking to do your Vegas trip on a budget, this wonβt be the place for you.
A recent search for a room for two adults on a Sunday night in May at the Venetian ran up a price tag close to $800 after taxes and fees. The room came with one king bed plus a pull-out sofa bed.

Thereβs no denying the amenities that come with this room. Nor the beauty or luxury of the property at the Venetian. But this is Las Vegas weβre talking aboutβ¦ how much time do you really plan to spend in your room? Seems that money would be better used in the sportsbook or at the tables.
Worst Hotel in Vegas (Casino): Circus Circus

When it comes to the casino floor itself, this hotel enters the worst hotels in Vegas argument.
Losing is a part of gambling, a necessary evil. Sometimes the roulette wheel lands on black five times in a row. Sometimes youβre dealt two face cards at the blackjack table, only to watch helplessly as the dealer reveals an Ace and a 10.
It happens. Itβs part of the game.
But gambling loses its fun when you feel like no matter what, you canβt come away a winner. And thatβs a hard feeling to avoid at Circus Circus.
Maybe the best description is to say that Circus Circus is what I think youβd get if you asked someone whoβs opposed to gambling and has never been to Las Vegas to create what they think a casino looks like.
Name your worst casino stereotypes. Filled with cigarette smoke? Bingo.

Young children (seriously, some LITTLE kids during my trip) running around unattended? Check.
Circus Circus doesnβt occupy the most attractive real estate on the Strip, which isnβt necessarily its faultβ¦ but what might be most amazing is despite all of this, the place is VERY crowded. Itβs a mega-hotel with almost 4,000 budget-friendly rooms, which may explain the crowdsβ¦ but if youβre planning a trip, this really isnβt a must-see.
Just about every place in Las Vegas has something to offer β cheap drinks, affordable room rates, opulent luxury β but chances are youβre not looking for all these qualities on one trip. Hopefully, our guide to the worst hotels in Vegas allows you to avoid the places that donβt meet your goals for your next journey to Sin City.
