DraftKings take $684,000 Super Bowl bet – where is the big money going?

The big bets for Super Bowl 54 are starting to hit the legal online sportsbooks with a number of six figure wagers placed, including a $684,000 bet on the 49ers. Find out what else the sharps are betting on.

On Sunday, the Titans and the Packers bowed out at the last hurdle, as they were defeated by the Chiefs and the 49ers. This set up a tasty matchup between the Kansas City and San Francisco outfits in Miami on February 2.

Here are some key stats to take a look at before deciding who your favorite is for the game:

Straight after Sunday’s games, the sportsbooks opened their markets for the Super Bowl. William Hill opened its spread on the lower end, choosing to make the Chiefs pick’em, while other books were up to -1.5. Either way, the sportsbooks were expecting an extremely tight matchup.

One of the first six-figure wagers to hit the Super Bowl was a $100,000 bet on San Francisco moneyline at even odds. If the 49ers are victorious in Miami, this bettor will be $100,000 richer. The Chiefs were subject to a monumental wager too, as BetMGM Sportsbook received a $150,000 bet on them to win. This bet would net $120,000.

In general, bets on the Super Bowl are extremely split. It seems that nobody can separate the two teams ahead of the biggest game of the year. In fact, 54% of the money wagered on the spread are on the Chiefs, and 46% on the 49ers.

The biggest bet so far (by a mile!) was made by one player at DraftKings Sportsbook – $684,000 on the 49ers +2, buying a half-point from +1.5. If San Francisco covers the spread, this bettor would net $601,920!

If you’re interested in betting on the Overs, this game seems to be the one. Both Super Bowl teams have been praised this season for their offensive efforts and have consistently recorded high numbers. An incredible 91% of the money is on the Over 54, which proves just how confident bettors are of a high-scoring Super Bowl 54.
