Game 1 of the Stanley Cup will begin in Boston at TD Garden on Monday May 27th, at 8 PM EST.

Blues vs Bruins Preview

The Bruins will look to take home their 7th Stanley Cup and their first since 2011, while the Blues are trying to finally take home their first ever Stanley Cup. The Blues have been to the finals 3 times but have yet to take home the trophy they’ve always yearned for.

The Bruins are coming off a sweep of the Hurricanes and seem to be cruising through the playoffs since barely surviving their first series against the Maple Leafs. The Blues on the other hand appear to be fighting for their playoff lives during every series but are somehow always able to pull through.

Patrice Bergeron leads the Bruins with 8 goals this postseason and to go along with Marchand and Pastrnak who have 7 goals each, show how dominant they have been all postseason long. The Bruins high powered offense paired with red hot Tuukka Rask in goal is the reason why everyone seems to think the Bruins will keep rolling to give the city of Boston yet another title.

However, on the other hand, the Blues seem to be a team of destiny. St. Louis has gone to at least 6 games in every series and have been playing terrific hockey since January. Jaden Schwartz leads the Blues with 12 goals this postseason and Ryan O’Reilly and Alex Pietrangelo are supporting him with 11 assists apiece. I think the Blues have a more balanced attack and Jordan Binnington may be just as red hot as Rask is in goal.

The Blues and Bruins have been the second and third best team in the NHL since the new year started and I think this series will most likely go down to 6 or 7 games. The Blues are a great defensive team and if they can hold it down against the Bruins it should be a coin flip to determine the winner.

– St. Louis is 7-2 on the road this postseason

Blues vs Bruins Prediction

The Bruins have been cruising through the competition to get to the Stanley Cup and the Blues are winning hard fought games to secure their spot in the Stanley Cup Finals. The Bruins are showing no signs of slowing down and Rask has been fantastic in the back of the net. However, call me a sucker for a good story, but I think the Blues have been playing terrific hockey and have all the ingredients to pull off the upset. Binnington will have to be perfect in goal, but in this coin flip of a series, I will take the Blues + money as I think this will be a beautiful story and finally a happy ending in St. Louis.

Blues vs Bruins Pick
