Seattle Seahawks at San Francisco 49ers Preview
In the first meeting between these NFC West rivals, the San Francisco 49ers are a surprising 8-0 at the halfway point of the season. They are coming off a bit of a bye week after playing a Thursday Night game before this Monday contest. The extra rest could be beneficial as they are going against the high-powered Seattle passing attack.
The 49ers formula has been simple: Run the ball and play stellar defense. Behind the two-headed rushing attack of running backs Tevin Coleman and Matt Breida, the 49ers believe they can run the ball against any team, and rightfully so. With the return of some key offensive lineman, their rushing attack may get even better.
As Russell Wilson goes, so does the Seahawks attack. Against Tampa in his last outing, Wilson threw for 378 yards and 5 touchdowns in an OT victory. In his last 5 games, in which the Seahawks went 4-1, Wilson has thrown for 14 TD to only 1 Interception. If the season ended today, he would be my NFL MVP favorite because without him, this Seahawks team doesn’t have what it takes to be an elite team.

The Seahawks have struggled to put teams away, as 6 of their 7 wins have come by 1 score or less. Against a team like San Francisco, they can expect another close game, and if they were to win, Wilson will have to lead them to victory as he usually does.
This is a huge game in the NFC West, as Seattle is currently in 2nd place, trailing the 49ers. With a win here it would get interesting down the stretch, but with a loss, the 49ers would have a near insurmountable lead going forward.

Seattle Seahawks at San Francisco 49ers Spread Prediction
It is not often you see a team that is 7-2 being a 6 point underdog. That goes to show you how dominant this 49ers team has been so far. Surprisingly, the Seahawks have been better on the road than at home. They are 4-0 at home and only 3-2 at home, and usually, the Seahawks are among the best home teams in the NFL.
For the 49ers, they have not had to rely on QB Jimmy Garoppolo often this season. However, that doesn’t mean he isn’t capable of winning big games, as he proved in last weeks game against Arizona that if he had to pass, he could. Against the Cardinals, Jimmy G threw for 317 yards and 4 TD, holding off the Cardinals comeback attempt.
This game to be is a toss-up. Throughout his career, Russell Wilson has come up huge in big spots, and has played up to his competition. The 49ers have beaten every team in their path, but it can be argued that this is their toughest opponent to date. The line started at 7.5 in this one, and has sharply dropped to -6, showing that their is some confusion on this game.
The 49ers are an outstanding team, and will be a tough out during the postseason. That being said, they’re 8-0, and their first loss has to come somewhere. I’m not sure if the Seahawks will win this game, but I do think it will be close. Because of this, I’m taking the Seahawks at +6.5, and don’t be surprised if they win out right.
