Seattle Mariners vs Oakland A’s 5/24/19, 10:07 PM EST. Game 1 will be played in the Oakland Coliseum.

Mariners vs Athletics Preview

The Seattle Mariners take their talents south in another divisional showdown against the Oakland Athletics. The last time these two teams met was in Seattle, where the mariners bested the Athletics in 2 hard fought games winning by 1 run in both games. The Athletics will hope for a different outcome this time around on their home turf, especially after coming off a long 9 game road trip. Both teams seem to have fallen off the radar since the Astros started rolling, but 2nd place in their division is easily still up for grabs. Can the Mariners find that fire that they had in the beginning of the season?

This west coast rivalry will continue in Oakland where the A’s have had most of their success this season. They are 14-10 at home and they are going to look to improve that in this series. The Mariners were red hot in the beginning of the season with their red-hot bats and started off 11-2 but cooled off quickly going all the way down to 23-29.

The Mariners will toss out Wade LeBlanc who is 2-1 with a 7.36 ERA and the A’s will respond with Daniel Mengden who is 1-1 with a 3.65 ERA. LeBlanc pitched fairly well until his last start where he got blown up and gave up 7 runs to the Twins.

Mariners vs Athletics Key Stats

– Mariners are 2-0 against the A’s this season

– The Athletics are 7-3 in their last 10 games.

– The Mariners are 3-7 in their last 10 games.

– The A’s are 14-10 at home.

Mariners vs Athletics Prediction

The Mariners seem to have cooled off completely going 3-7 in their last 10 and The A’s are finally back at home after a long road trip. The A’s also have revenge on their minds as they look to even the score against their division rivals. The A’s are 7-3 in their last 10 and Im going to have to side with them until they show signs of slowing down.
