Northern Trust Tournament Preview

The Course

Course: TPC Boston
Yardage: 7,342
Par: 71
Greens: Bentgrass

Northern Trust: Field

There will be 125 players in the field and 65 make the cut this week.  This is the last tournament where there will be a cut during the Fed Ex playoffs. The Top 70 in the FedEx Cup standings after this week will advance to the BMW Championship next week. This week is all about hitting your approach shots, long irons and putting. I am just keeping it short and sweet. Who really wants to read a long article about golf anyway?

DraftKings Fantasy Plays

Patrick Reed $9000 on DraftKings – has a 4th,5th and 6th finish from 2015-2017 at this tournament. His last two tournaments he finished 9th and 13th. Reed could be a solid fantasy play this week.

Abraham Ancer $7700 on DraftKings – Ancer has been in solid form since the restart. I think he is slightly underpriced on DraftKings fantasy and he’s also 70/1 to win. Ancer is also ranked 4th in my model this week.

Daniel Berger $8900 on DraftKings – Berger has been fire since the restart and even prior to the restart. Berger has made 10 of his last 11 cuts, and is 4th in my model this week. I still think he’s underpriced on DraftKings fantasy as well. He is a play and bet for me at 33/1. He has 6 top 10s out of his last 8 starts.

Betting Odds

Here is my betting card for the week. I am listing the sites that have the best odds for each golfer. I may add more as the week goes on if I see a number I like.

Foxbet/Pokerstars

Daniel Berger – 33/1

Matthew Wolf- 70/1

Abraham Ancer- 70/1

Harris English- 90/1

Brendan Steele- 200/1

Dylan Fritelli- 200/1

Sam Burns – 250/1

Cam Davis- 300/1

Bet 365 NJ

Viktor Hovland – 75/1

Harold Varner- 140/1

Doc Redman- 150/1

Talor Gooch- 400/1

Tom  Hoge 400/1

Carloz Ortiz 600/1

Fanduel Sportsbook

Kevin Na- 250/1

Kevin Streelman- 250/1

Zach Johnson- 250/1

Henrik Norlander- 300/1

I also bet the Top 5 β€œeach way” with these, meaning you double your bet and get paid ΒΌ the odds if they finish in the top 5. I don’t expect a lot of these longshots to win. This is why a majority of these guys could also be better Top 20 or Top 40 bets etc. However, after seeing Jim Herman who on some sites was 600/1 won last week, anything is possible. Oh and we did live bet him to book a win! Good luck this week.
