Denver Broncos CB Patrick Surtain II has been ranked the best in his position by NFL executives, players, scouts and coaches.
As part of ESPN’s 2023 NFL season preview, Jeremy Fowler invited league executives, players, scouts and coaches to rank the best in various positions on the field.
Most recently, it was time to rate the cornerbacks of the NFL.
The cornerback position is an interesting one, as it involves a degree of versatility and adaptability not required in other positions. Cornerbacks must be strong enough to bring down ball carriers, creative enough for turnovers, fast enough to compete with speedy opposition receivers, and more.
That’s what makes ranking the cornerbacks of the NFL a tough, but appealing task. Representatives of the NFL have concluded that 23-year-old Patrick Surtain II is the top-rated CB in the NFL heading into the 2023 season.
Why is Patrick Surtain II Rated So Highly?
Patrick Surtain II improved on his impressive rookie season with an outstanding 2022. He earned Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors in 2022, despite the fact that his team could have performed better that season.
Now, add Sean Payton to the mix. The Broncos head coach will improve this roster of players, no doubt about it. And he will get more out of Pat Surtain II this season too.
