The Oscars are one of the crown jewels in a series of events that, while not sporting contests, lend themselves to wagering nonetheless.
The phenomenon started with sporting events such as college football’s Heisman Trophy presentation the NFL Draft, and the NBA’s Most Valuable Player Award voting.
Fans can’t watch the action unfold, but they can place money on their preferred or expected outcome based on their knowledge of the participants and likeliest results.
