Sunday Night Football Recap

Cardinals 37, Seahawks 34: In a roller coaster game, the Cardinals (+3.5) overcame an early deficit to win an overtime thriller. 30% of tickets were on the Cardinals to cover the spread, and while it did not look great early, they came back to cover and win outright where 24% of tickets were on the Cardinals to win. The over/under of 55 points was never in doubt as both teams scored with relative ease. 67% of tickets were on the over in the final game of the Sunday slate.

4PM ET Games Recap

Chargers 39, Jaguars 29: In a wild back and forth game, the Chargers (-7.5) prevailed to win and cover the spread against the Jaguars. The Chargers received 80% of bets to cover the spread, another big win for bettors on the day. The total of 49 points was hit easily as the offenses lit up the scoreboard which cashed 54% of bets.

Chiefs 43, Broncos 16: The Chiefs (-7) used two defensive/special teams touchdowns to propel them to an easy victory in Denver satisfying 91% of bets to cover the spread. 95% of tickets were on the Chiefs to win the game outright on the moneyline. There was snow throughout the game, but the Chiefs defensive touchdowns helped push the game total over 44 to the satisfaction of 74% of bets.

Buccaneers 45, Raiders 20: In what was a close game throughout, Tom Brady led the Bucs to pull away to a big win as he visited Las Vegas for the first time. The Buccaneers were one of the largest public sides of Sunday with 78% of tickets on the Bucs to cover the 4-point closing spread. 78% of tickets were on over 51.5, which with the Buccaneers strong offensive performance, was hit without too much trouble.

49ers 33, Patriots 6: The 49ers dominated the Patriots wire to wire to hand the Patriots their third straight loss. The 49ers closed as 3-point underdogs with action fairly split as 49% of tickets were on the 49ers to cover. However, 53% of tickets were on the 49ers to win outright and they won handily. Cam Newton struggled only passing for 98 yards and not assisting much with trying to hit the over of 44.5. 45% of tickets were on the under, and with the Patriots offense struggling, the under hit with relative ease.

1PM ET Games Recap

Saints 27, Panthers 24: The Panthers (+7.5) were able to cover the spread in Teddy Bridgewater’s return to New Orleans, but failed to force overtime as a Joey Slye 65-yard field goal came up just short to tie the game with 2 minutes remaining. 54% of tickets were on the Panthers to cover the spread, while 81% of tickets were on the Saints to win the game. 67% of tickets were on the over 51, which was also just missed on the late Slye field goal attempt.

Washington Football Team 25, Cowboys 3: The Washington Football Team opened the game as 3-point underdogs, but after the Cowboys poor performance on Monday night, moved all the way to 1-point favorites by kickoff. 78% of spread tickets were on the Cowboys to cover and 76% of tickets on the Cowboys to win outright. The under was never in doubt as the Washington Football Team’s defense dominated the Cowboys offense. 49% of tickets were on under 46 points in the game.

Packers 35, Texans 20: After a tough loss to the Bucs, the Packers came out and dominated the Texans, winning and covering the closing spread (-3) easily. The Packers were the biggest winner for bettors of the early games with 87% of bets on the Packers to cover and 86.5% of moneyline tickets. 33% of tickets were on the game total to go under 56.

Bills 18, Jets 10: The Bills hit as high as 13.5-point favorites but closed as 10-point favorites and failed to cover the spread against the winless Jets. The Bills were the most popular bet of the early games with 90% of tickets on them to cover the spread. 96% of tickets were on the Bills to win outright, which after falling down 10-0 was in some doubt, but were able to come back and keep the Jets winless. Under 46 was able to easily cash for 55% of bettors as the Bills settled for 8 field goal attempts, making 6 of them.

Steelers 27, Titans 24: The matchup of two 5-0 teams atop the AFC did not disappoint. Stephen Gostkowski missed a 46-yard field goal that would have sent the game to overtime, to the delight of 70% of bettors that were on the Steelers to win. 70% of bets were also on the Steelers +1. The over/under closed at 51 and with 32% of tickets on the under.

Browns 37, Bengals 34: In a wild back and forth game, the Browns late touchdown sealed a win for the Browns and moved them to 5-2 on the season. The spread came down to the wire, with the line moving around Browns -3 and -3.5 all week long. A late extra point miss by the Browns led to the game ending as a 3-point win. The Browns overall received 70% of bets to cover the spread, with those bets split among -3 and -3.5. The teams combined for 71 points, smashing the total of 50.5 and with 70% of tickets on the over, bettors left this game happy on the total.

Lions 23, Falcons 22: A wild game in Atlanta finished with a Lions touchdown on the last play from scrimmage. 54% of bets were on the Falcons to cover the closing 1.5-point spread, and with the late Todd Gurley touchdown, looked to be in good position. Matthew Stafford led the Lions down the field for a late touchdown to win the game for 51% of Lions moneyline backers.
