NFL Week 2 Recap: The Biggest Bets

Similar to last week, American sportsbooks received huge wagers on the Football, resulting in some colossal wins and some painful losses for bettors.

An entertaining NFL Week 2 saw Eddy Pineiro kick a last-gasp 53-yard field goal, giving the Chicago Bears a wild 16-14 victory over the Denver Broncos. Julio Jones became Atlanta’s career leader in receiving yards, Drew Brees suffered an injury setback and Antonio Brown scored his first Touchdown as a Patriot. Big talking points like these gave way to huge betting wins and losses.

NFL Big Stakes

Just ten minutes before kickoff between the Colts and the Titans, one bettor wagered a huge $150,000 on Colts as three-point dogs at William Hill. He will be having a happy Monday!

There was more success for sports bettors, as one player placed $130,000 on Bills ML (-131) vs. the Giants.

However, it was not all good news this weekend. One bettor was so confident that there would be over 52.5 points in the match-up between the Chiefs and the Raiders, so he ‘Points Bet’ it. You make money per point when you are more right, but lose more when you are more wrong. There was a total of 38 points, with none scored in the second half. This bettor lost $40,000! And to finish, we have a crazy bet, which just doesn’t seem worth the risk! One bettor decided to wager $20,000 on the Patriots to win straight up. As you can imagine, this $20,000 would only return the player $833. A win’s a win, but not something we would risk.

One thing’s for sure, next weekend’s NFL is going to stir up some more brilliant wins and painful losses with the sportsbooks. Hopefully, ours will all be winners!
