Caesars Sports SPECIAL OFFER
After 10 action-packed weeks of NFL action, talk is turning to the debate of who will win Coach of the Year. It currently looks like there is a two-horse race between the coach of Tennessee and the coach of Arizona.
Based on current odds, the sportsbooks in America are tipping either Mike Vrabel or Kliff Kingsbury to be named Coach of the Year come the end of the season.
Will Mike Vrabel Win Coach of the Year?
Mike Vrabel’s Tennessee are on their way to setting the record for the most players used in a single NFL season. Normally, this suggests that things aren’t quite going well for the team. However, this situation is different as Tennessee are currently 8-2 for the season.
After 10 games, the Titans have already used 82 players. Miraculously, they’re still winning. With star players like running back Derrick Henry and wide receiver Julio Jones on their injury reserve list, recent success has to have been impacted by those off-the-field.
This is where Vrabel comes in. Victories over the likes of Buffalo, Kansas City and New Orleans with a total of 16 players on the injury reserve list has proven that Mike Vrabel can work under pressure with limited resources at his disposal.
The Titans are one of only four teams this season to have used at least 70 players, along with Arizona (72), the New York Jets (71) and Carolina (70). Before this year, Tennessee’s highest number of players used in one season was 74 back in 2020.
As a result, the Titans sit at the top of the AFC standings and have racked up a six-win streak in the process. Mike Vrabel’s hard work has paid off and he now finds himself a +400 favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook to win Coach of the Year.
Will Kliff Kingsbury Win Coach of the Year?
Well, it’s safe to say that not many expected the Cardinals to go 8-2 this season. With injuries to key men DeAndre Hopkins and Kyler Murray during the season, Kingsbury has had to deal with similar player availability issues to Vrabel.
The reality is that Kliff Kingsbury has done an incredible job in Arizona thus far in 2021. He has transitioned rapidly from a rebuilding team into a franchise pushing for victory every single week. On the road, Arizona have won five out of five.
Their two losses this season have come at the hands of Green Bay and, most recently, Carolina. As a result, Arizona sit in second place in the NFC standings behind Green Bay.
The Cardinals have Seattle, Chicago and the Los Angeles Rams to overcome in their next three games. These games could prove vital in the run-in for that all-important playoff spot, and could also prove vital in Kliff Kingsbury’s pursuit of the Coach of the Year title.
As current second-favorite for Coach of the Year, Kingsbury is +750 odds at DraftKings Sportsbook. If his winning formula continues into the latter stages of the season, he’s definitely in with a shot.
NFL Coach of the Year Odds
Here are the Coach of the Year Odds at DraftKings Sportsbook:

Going by the current odds, a $50 bet on Mike Vrabel would win you $250. A $50 bet on Kliff Kingsbury would win you $425.
It is clear that both men in the running for Coach of the Year have been working under similar circumstances this season. Injury concerns have resulted in high player turnover in both Tennessee and Arizona but, incredibly, this has not impacted on results on the field.
