Can the Jets finally pick up their first win of the season when they welcome a poorly-performing Patriots team on Monday?
New England Patriots at New York Jets Preview
The New England Patriots (2-5) visit the New York Jets (0-8) for the Week 9 Monday Night Football game at MetLife Stadium.
The Patriots are in unfamiliar territory, having not won a game in four. Bill Belichick has never lost five in a row as Patriots head coach and will hope he doesn’t break that record on Monday night. New England come off the back of a closely-contested battle in Week 8 against the Bills, when Cam Newton’s last minute red-zone fumble gifted Buffalo a 24-21 win. They’ll be determined to put things right on Monday against the winless Jets.
The Jets could also make unwanted history on Monday night with a loss, as it would be their first ever 0-9 start to a season. Sam Darnold will not play and QB Joe Flacco is expected to take his place on the field. There’s immense pressure on head coach Adam Gase and his players as the Jets have done very little positive this season. Even in their last three games, they suffered a shutout to the Dolphins, were beaten by the Bills and were dominated 35-9 by the Chiefs. Something has to change on Monday night.
The Patriots are 3-4 ATS this season and the Jets are 1-7 ATS. In their last 18 games against the Jets, New England have won 16. We’re expecting another Patriots win on Monday night.
