What is the Netflix Cup?
The Netflix Cup is Netflix’s first ever live sporting event. It will see four PGA Tour golfers partner up with four Formula 1 drivers to compete in a match-play event at the Wynn Golf Club in Las Vegas
Competition Format
The format of the 2023 Netflix Cup will be a scramble. Each player from each team will hit a tee shot, followed by strategy to decide which ‘best ball’ to hit next.
Players will then hit their second shots from the position of their chosen ‘best ball’ off the tee. This process will continue until each team completes the hole, for a total of eight holes. The two winning teams will then compete in the final hole in a sudden death championship match.
Just as we saw in previous editions of ‘The Match’, surprise challenges will be thrown into the mix. This continue to add to the entertainment of the Netflix Cup.
What Are the Teams?
Here are the four teams competing in the Netflix Cup:
- Lando Norris (handicap 13.6) & Rickie Fowler
- Carlos Sainz (handicap 9) & Justin Thomas
