Kevin Davis is 5-2 for Prop Picks since starting at American Betting Experts and our ‘Prop Professor’ is back with another three selections for Friday night
What is an NBA Player Prop?
An NBA player proposition bet is a bet on the statistical performance of an NBA player for a single game. Sportsbooks offer hundreds of NBA Player Props each day and I comb through all the New Jersey sportsbooks to get you the best values for my picks of the day.

DeMar Derozan (SAS): Over 5.5 Assists +110 (Bet365)
Kevin Huerter (ATL) vs WAS
Tonight’s game between the Atlanta Hawks and the Washington Wizards is expected to be close and high scoring as the point total is 247.5 and Washington is only favored by 2 points. As a result there are many players on both sides who will go over their prop totals and my favorite choice to go over is Kevin Huerter, not just because he has a great name. Huerter has hit three 3-pointers in each of his last 4 games and can be expected to take at least eight 3-pointer attempts tonight. In addition to Huerter’s 3-point shooting tendencies, Washington has the 6th fastest pace of play in the league and the 3rd worst opponent 3-pointer percentage in the league. Betting on Huerter to make over 2.5 3-pointers is the best way to take advantage of this matchup.
Zion Williamson (NOP) vs. MIA
In my last article, I took the under on Zion Williamson’s rebounds and lost that bet with only 23 seconds left in the game. Despite that heartbreaking loss, I am continuing to fade Zion Williamson’s rebounding player props. While there is no disputing that Zion is a fantastic player and that people are fascinated by him, the Pelicans are obviously managing Zion’s load in a way where he isn’t putting up the statistics that he would put up if he played a full load every night. Additionally, Derrick Favors is grabbing more rebounds in the front court that could easily go to Zion instead. Also not working in Zion’s favor is Tonight’s matchup against the Heat. The Heat are 6th in the league in fewest rebounds from opposing Power Forwards. Based on Zion’s inflated value, the emergence of Derrick Favors, and tonight’s defensive matchup, I am continuing to bet the under on Zion Williamson’s rebounding player prop bets.
DeMar Derozan (SAS) vs BRK
While there is nothing specific in tonight’s matchup that suggests that this a good bet, there is also nothing specific that says that it is a bad bet. The reason why I am betting on DeMar Derozan to have over 5.5 assists is because Derozan has had 6 or more assists in 8 out of his last 9 games. For whatever unknown reason, the high-volume shooting Derozan has been taking fewer field goal attempts and has simultaneously increased his assists totals. I believe that this trend will continue tonight and Derozan will get at least 6 assists.
