NFL Week 1: The Best Parlays and Moneyline Bets

Daniel Wettstein makes his selections ahead of Week 1 of the NFL and shares his parlays with us all.

The NFL finally officially kicks off on Thursday Night with Houston taking on Kansas City in Kansas City. So what are the best bets for week 1?

I’m glad you asked, as below you will find what I believe to be the best bets that will double as my NFL entries into this week’s #ABEpickscomp. If you would like to get in on the competition just DM me @COsportsfans and they will get you hooked up with free bets to make your own picks! The competition is all about profit, so there is some risk involved. Like Ricky Bobby said, “If you’re not first, you’re last!”. I live by this motto, so if you are risk-averse, get your free bets and let me know yours!

You can check out my Denver Broncos preview here.

We are going to start off with a bang! We have 2 parlays to begin. The first is a 5-leg all Moneyline Parlay with a mixture of NFL Favorites and ‘Dogs that I believe are a lock to win. All my picks are from FanDuel but you have many options to find your favorite sportsbook here:

The second pick is another parlay of 4-legs, again all Moneylines as the lack of pre-season has me skeptical of taking spreads and O/U’s for the most part as we have no idea how defenses are going to look with tackling/assignments. Nor do we know how well offenses are going to click with the timing required to be successful not being honed with any live bullets flying:

The remainder of the 3 picks for the weekend are going to be straights. Starting with a line that 1 non-QB(Von Miller) going down changed a team from the Fave to the ‘Dog overnight. I planned to take this line even when Denver was the Favorite as they have only lost 2 home-openers in the last 16 tries. Again all are from FanDuel:

The 4th pick is another Moneyline on a ‘Dog I can’t help but believe will prevail. The Green Bay Packers were 13-3 and made it to within 1 win of the Super Bowl in ’19. Due to the controversy the Packers created by drafting Jordan Love in the first round, I believe has books grossly underestimating them. The Vikings made a nice move to get Yannick Ngakoue from Jacksonville. But the loss of Diggs on offense is huge and allows teams to double Adam Theilen, Kirk Cousins’s favorite target. The “Smith Brothers” and this Packers D is legit and will limit Dalvin Cook and the Vikings offense while Aaron Rodgers starts his revenge tour:

My 5th and final pick for the weekend is the only none Moneyline bet as I took the Arizona Cardinals to cover 7 points. This is another team I believe is being truly underrated. Kyler Murray had a great rookie year with the odds stacked against him on a team bereft of talent. That is no longer the case with the major additions of DeAndre Hopkins via trade and Isaiah Simmons in the draft. Klingsbury and the Cardinals have loaded up in a tough division and will make some noise as a sneaky playoff-caliber team:

So those are my picks for the weekend. Don’t forget to contact @COsportsfans on Twitter to get your free bets and join in the fun this weekend with the #ABEpickcomp!
