The Danny Dimes show, is no more. Well, at least for the time being. Giants rookie QB Daniel Jones has been ruled out by an ankle injury he suffered in last week’s loss to the Packers. Entering in at Quarterback for the Giants? None other than Eli Manning.
Manning as you all know is a legend to most Giants fans. However, Father Time has caught up to him in a big way the last couple seasons, and he was benched in favor of the aforementioned Jones. Manning enters this game with a career record of 116-116, go figure. While the Giants are missing out on the playoffs again, their fans at least have a reason to watch this one.
The Eagles are in a free fall coming off an embarrassing loss to the Miami Dolphins a week ago. Sitting at 5-7, you’d think they’re completely out of the playoff picture. Thanks to the weak NFC East, think again, as they’re only a half-game behind the 6-7 Dallas Cowboys, who got whooped on Thursday night. Does anyone want to win this division?
While the Eagles are struggling, they can still put up points, and Carson Wentz can still sling the rock. His receiving corp should be healthy with Alshon Jeffery back in the fold, and with the improved play of Miles Sanders at running back, they’ll be expected to put up points in this one. The onus will fall on the shoulders of Eli Manning and Saquon Barkley to see if they can hold up in this one.

The Eagles are expected to win this game, as they are 9.5 point favorites in this one. With the way they’ve played this season, nobody knows what to expect anymore. It’s clear that the talent on the roster is there, but they haven’t been able to string together key performances in important spots. Playing the Giants should solve their struggles.
The Giants are welcoming back Eli Manning with low expectations. He isn’t the same Quarterback he once was, but he still possesses the smarts and savvy of a veteran, and could pick apart a defense if given time by his line. The problem for the Giants this season is that they haven’t been able to give any protection.
This should be a game the Eagles win easily. They’re a desperate team playing at home against a QB that hasn’t played since Week 2. That being said, 9.5 points is a lot to give. I think Eli Manning will spark some life into the Giants offense, a unit which is finally nearing full strength. This game will be closer than expected, and while the Eagles will win, I think the Giants will give them a scare.
