Jason Radowitz is 5-1 in his College GameDay Game of the Week Best Bets.Β
LSU won by 14 last week. We had -13.5. WINNER!! So yeah, weβre 5-1 since I started this College GameDay Best Bets routine. Itβs been a fun ride. This week 16 Michigan is traveling to 7 Penn State for the GameDay Game.
Michigan Wolverines Preview
Michigan was a 24 point favorite against Illinois. They won the game 42-25 in a game they shouldβve won a little easier than that. The game was close in the second half of the game until Michigan escaped. The downfall of Michigan seems to be getting closer. This is a HUGE game for Michigan for plenty of reasons.
Shea Patterson has been far from excellent this season. Heβs thrown for 1246 yards in six games. Michigan will look to establish the run against a Penn State team that will watch their fans white out the field under the bright lights.
We talk about Jim Harbaugh and how he canβt beat Ohio State. But one thing he doesnβt struggle to do? Beat Penn State. Heβs won 3 of 4 against Penn State and Penn Stateβs James Franklin is 1-4 against Michigan.
Penn StateΒ Nittany Lions Preview
Penn State held off Iowa last week winning 17-12. Their defense has been ridiculously good. Theyβve allowed no more than 13 points a game. Penn Stateβs offense struggled against Iowaβs defense. Iowa and Michigan are pretty similar in defenses.
Penn Stateβs defense is going to have to force Patterson to throw the ball. Michigan wouldnβt mind either if the game becomes a βwhich quarterback does better game.β Penn Stateβs Clifford threw for just 117 yards against Iowa completing just 50 passes. This was his worst performance of probably his career in terms of passing yards. He had five straight games of 200 yards passing before that.
Pick
Itβs a nine point spread. Michigan is expected to lose by two scores. Iβm not sure I agree with that. Iowa is very similar to both of these teams.
Michigan beat Iowa 10-3 (One score game.) Penn State beat Iowa 17-12 (one score game.)
This one will be a one score game too. And probably low scoring.
