The March Madness Final Four has an unexpected look after both Duke and Gonzaga were eliminated and it is now Virginia who are the clear favorites with the New Jersey Sportsbooks to win the NCAA Tournament.
March Madness brackets across the country were blown apart over the weekend with the shock losses of top seeds Duke and Gonzaga in the Elite Eight round of the NCAA Tournament.
That has left Virginia, tipped by our experts as the best bet in the Futures market before the tournament, as the only number one seed remaining in the tournament and it is, therefore, no surprise to see them installed as the +125 favorites with SugarHouse to lift the trophy in Minneapolis on April 8.
The Cavaliers will face Kentucky’s conquerors, Auburn, in the Final Four and being up against the lowest ranked team remaining has clearly made them favorites to progress. Auburn are +200 on the Money Line to beat Virginia and +750 outsiders to win the whole tournament.
The other Final Four match up sees Michigan State, who beat overall top seed Duke, play Texas Tech. Our experts had recommended fading Duke in the outrights and that move landed when the Blue Devils, a side made up of freshmen, were beaten by the more experienced Spartans. Zion Williamson may well be the overall star of the NCAAB but the likely number one draft pick couldn’t see enough of the ball to get Duke’s attack going against a Michigan team coached by 24 year veteran Tom Izzo.
Michigan State are now +175 second favorites to win the NCAA Tournament and -157 on the Money Line to beat Texas. The Red Raiders, meanwhile, are +500 on the Futures market after their own giant-killing exploits against the well-fancied Gonzaga Bulldogs.
The early spreads see Virginia as a five point favorite against Auburn and Michigan as point favorites against Texas.
