It’s June 3nd, 2019 and Dae Bets is giving you his best bets (14-4 this season). Not only giving you picks with safety but value as well.
We had another great day yesterday and like I have been preaching for a while, run lines are hitting often. As I mentioned last week picking games on small slate this year is very tricky due to fact that everyone is getting blown up.Today we have a very small four game slate so we will be diving deeper into each game and finding one prop bet I love within the three picks. I do see a few trends I like and think we can take advantage of. We have the Dodgers without home field advantage, a 6-0 Aaron Nola against a Padres team that has the highest strikeout rate in the league and what should be a good game in Chicago.
Angels @ Cubs 4:50PM
The only non primetime game today is this one. Jon Lester (3-4 3.59 ERA) is set to face this on and off Angels lineup. Lester has not been good away from home but at Wrigley he has been great holding a 1.90 ERA in 23 innings played. The Angels bats also never scare me other than Mike Trout. Lester will be fine here I expect him to go six and get the win maybe giving up a bomb to Trout. If he does he will have the Cubs lineup to back him up facing Angels pitcher Trevor Cahill (2-5 6.92 ERA). Cahill is allowing a .333 batting average to lefties and over .300 ISO (power) to lefties and righties I can almost guarantee at least two Cubs are going yard this game. For a prop bet I will take Schwarber hits a homerun. The Cubs are 18-10 at home while the Angels are 13-16 in away games.
Phillies @ Padres 10:10PM
I think it is time for myself to reveal that I am a die hard phillies fan and I try to avoid including them in my write ups at all cost because I know we don’t have a bullpen. However I love them in this spot far to much to not include them. Aaron Nola (6-0 4.18 ERA) has been pitching better through each start. He has only given up over one run twice in his last eight starts. Nola has been giving up a few hits to lefties, luckily the Padres only have three in their main starting nine. He just needs to avoid the power bats and he will get through this game. The Padres are also currently 25th in team batting average and 1st in strikeout percentage. Nola is projected to face Padres pitcher Eric Lauer (4-4 4.4 ERA) who is allowing a .263 average to righties which the the Phillies are chalk full of. With the phillies being away I will take the run line for added value. As for a prop bet i’ll take Nola over five strikeouts.
Dodgers @ Diamondbacks 9:40 PM
In this game we will find by the best value on the slate by far. At this point the Dodgers will be heavy favorites in almost every game even when they don’t deserve to be. I think the Diamondbacks can definitely win this game. For one the Dodgers are 16-12 in away games not the ridiculous 22-7 record they have in home games. The Diamondbacks are projected to pitch their lefty Robbie Ray (4-2 3.59 ERA). He has only given up over two runs in one of his last six starts and that was in Coors (high altitude). We all know the Dodgers are better against righties and at home so the Diamondbacks are getting two huge boost before the game even begins. The Diamondbacks are also hitting the ball well and with power against right handed pitching. With Buehler (5-1 4.03 ERA) projected to pitch they should be able to get on base here and having 4 batters owning over a .200 ISO against righties expect a home run as well. Prop Bet – Escobar home run
