The Inter Miami superstar was spotted shopping for groceries at Publix during his spare time off the field.
It’s the age-old debate. Is Lionel Messi the greatest soccer player of all time?
Well, the 2022 World Cup in Qatar boosted his case, as the Argentinian led his side to victory. Messi has now won ‘everything’ there is to win in soccer – a World Cup, a Champions League, the Ballon d’Or and much more.
Most recently, Messi stole the headlines as he made a big-money move from Paris Saint-Germain to Inter Miami. It is reported that Messi will earn $100 million per season in Miami.
Co-owner of Inter Miami, David Beckham, was the once biggest earner in the MLS of all time when he moved to LA Galaxy back in 2007. Now, the biggest earner is Messi, the man who Beckham has brought to the United States.
But, no matter how much money you make, no matter how good you are at your profession, you still need your groceries.
And that’s exactly what Lionel Messi headed out to get this week at his local Publix store. Much to the disbelief of many in the supermarket.

We see lots of sugary breakfast cereal in those bags, Mr. Messi. Maybe that’s the secret to his success and global domination? Or maybe he’s just shopping for the whole family.
Either way, it’s refreshing to see a footballer of his fame and status out shopping for groceries in public. You don’t see it enough.
One of those lucky enough to meet the main man tweeted “Just met Lionel Messi and he signed my tshirt. Life is complete. Taking some time off to cry quick.”
