Country music legend Kenny Rogers, known for the famous song ‘The Gambler’ has died aged 81.

Kenny Rogers’ family has announced that the popular country music star has died aged 81.

A tweet from his official Twitter account announced that the 81-year-old died “peacefully at home…..surrounded by his family”

Rogers was the 10th best selling US male artist of all time and one of the icons of his generation, with his song ‘The Gambler’ an anthem around the world.

Tributes have been pouring in for ‘The Gambler’ on social media and #RIPgambler has been a trending tag on Twitter since the announcement of Rogers’s death with the world of music, sport and betting all paying tribute to a legend.
