The popular Netflix show will feature Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow in its second season, as reported by Dov Kleiman.
Eagle-eyed readers of NBC Sports’ Peter King’s news column have noticed something exciting today regarding Netflix’s NFL documentary, ‘Quarterback’.
The removal of this snippet from King’s column has left many uncertain as to the reason. Are we waiting for an announcement from Bengals head coach, Zac Taylor? Or is it Netflix’s responsibility to release the news?
Either way, this is major news for Cincinnati Bengals fans. And, of course, for the league. Burrow is one of the NFL’s most talented and high-profile quarterbacks at the moment.
Burrow Accepts, Many Turn Down
It looks like Joe Burrow has accepted the request from Netflix and will appear in next season’s ‘Quarterback’ show.
This will mean that the show has featured both Burrow and Mahomes in two seasons, which is a strong duo.
However, it has been made clear in recent days that many other high-profile quarterbacks have rejected the opportunity to appear in Netflix’s behind-the-scenes documentary.
One of those who turned down the proposition was Lamar Jackson. The Ravens quarterback said he prefers to “focus on ball”.
Others who have rejected include:
- Justin Fields – Chicago Bears
- Jalen Hurts – Philadelphia Eagles
- Dak Prescott – Dallas Cowboys
- Tua Tagovailoa – Miami Dolphins
- Sam Howell – Washington Commanders
- Matthew Stafford – Los Angeles Rams
It won’t be long until the full list of quarterbacks appearing in season 2 of the show will be revealed. With Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins and Marcus Mariota featuring in season 1, the next chapter could be even more enticing.
