What is Jared Goff’s career record?

From a Super Bowl appearance in 2019 with the Los Angeles Rams, Goff was traded to the then-lowly Detroit Lions before the 2021 season.
Now Goff has Detroit on the rise as he rewrites the narrative surrounding his career. From his very first start – a 14-10 loss against the Miami Dolphins on November 20, 2016 – to Thanksgiving’s defeat over the Green Bay Packers, here’s a look at Jared Goff’s all-time record against each NFL team.

Jared Goff’s Record Against The Seahawks
Jared Goff has played the Seattle Seahawks a dozen times in his career, the most of any NFL team.
Goff’s record is an even 6-6 when including a 30-20 win in the 2020 NFC Wild Card playoff game in Seattle.
Strangely, it was possibly Goff’s worst statistical outing against Seattle. He was only 9-for-19 passing but racked up 155 yards and a touchdown in the win.

Jared Goff’s Record Against The 49ers
Goff hasn’t fared as well against the San Francisco 49ers, with a 3-6 career record over nine starts.
Looking at the numbers, however, the record seems to be bad fortune. Goff has 61 percent completions over his career against San Francisco, averaging 213 passing yards per contest. He’s thrown 17 touchdown passes against only seven interception in those nine games.
Jared Goff’s Record Against The Packers
Goff will be a popular guy in Detroit if he can regularly beat the Packers, and so far, so good.
He’s 5-2 against the Cheeseheads in his career; 4-2 since joining the Lions in 2021.
His numbers are outstandingly consistent, with an average of 240 passing yards and 12 touchdowns to only three interceptions against Green Bay.

Jared Goff’s Record Against The Cardinals
No single record compares to Goff’s 8-1 mark vs. the Arizona Cardinals.
Almost all the starts came during his time in Los Angeles, but Goff did top Arizona, 30-12, as the Lions’ starter on December 19, 2021.
His numbers are outstanding against Arizona: 71 percent completions, an average of 273 passing yards, and 14 passing touchdowns to only three interceptions.
Jared Goff’s Record Against The Eagles
If the Lions remain on their current path, they could be on a collision course with Philadelphia in the NFC playoffs. Historically, it’s not the best news for Jared Goff.
Goff’s only 1-4 against Philadelphia in his career, with the win coming in September 2020 as a member of the Rams.
The good news is his numbers don’t dip much against Philly, with 66 percent completions, 248 yards passing, seven careers passing touchdowns and only two interceptions.

Jared Goff Statistics
As the career marks exhibit, Goff is a high-percentage passer who’s not particularly prone to throwing interceptions. You can go far with a quarterback who avoids the big mistake.
But Jared Goff can light it up on occasion as well, as he showed in 2018.

Jared Goff’s Best Record Game
If you saw it, you’ll remember the Monday Night classic in 2018 where Goff and Patrick Mahomes went back and forth in one of the NFL’s highest-scoring games of all time.
In the end, Goff and the Rams had the last laugh, beating Kansas City 54-51. Goff was 31-for-49, passing for 413 yards and four touchdowns on the evening.
Goff is a member of an awfully exclusive club as a quarterback who’s made multiple starts against Mahomes without a loss. The Lions topped Mahomes and the Chiefs 21-20 in the 2023 season opener.
But every dog has his day, as Goff learned just two months after the classic against Kansas City.

Jared Goff’s Worst Game
Super Bowl LIII wasn’t a statistical disaster as much as a defensive masterpiece from the Patriots.
The normally accurate Goff completed only half his passes (19-of-38) for 229 yards, no touchdowns and an interception as the Rams dropped the Super Bowl to New England, 13-3.
With the Rams driving in the fourth quarter for a potential game-tying touchdown, Stephon Gilmore picked off Goff inside the five-yard line to seal New England’s victory.
Fortunately, a couple tough years have yielded to a potential breakthrough in Detroit in 2023. Goff may get a chance to redeem his record in the playoffs and even the Big Game as soon as this winter!
