Drafted 53rd overall in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has experienced a lot of recent success, including a trip to the Super Bowl this past February for the 2022-23 season. But what is Hurts record against ever other NFL team?
Before that, Hurts and the Eagles made it to the postseason, losing in the Wild Card Round to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. There were questions about whether Hurts was “the guy” and whether or not he was a capable passer.
Then, on April 17, 2023, Hurts signed a five-year extension for $255 million, coming off a massive 2022-23 season.

Hurts Couldn’t Beat The Chiefs…Until 2023!
Prior to the 2023 NFL season, Hurts had only played the Chiefs twice in his career. Once in the regular season and once in the postseason.
During the regular season, Hurts played the Chiefs at home in Week 4 of 2021. In that game, Hurts played exceptionally well, completing 32 of 48 passes for 387 yards, two touchdowns, zero interceptions, and 47 rushing yards.
Unfortunately, despite scoring 30 points, they lost 42-30.
The next matchup came in the most recent Super Bowl, where they lost 38-35. There were a handful of plays that decided the game, including a fumble recovery return for a touchdown by linebacker Nick Bolton, a big punt return by Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney, and a holding call on the Eagles against JuJu Smith-Schuster.
The Chiefs and Eagles then met during the 2023-24 season in Week 11 at Arrowhead. Hurts and the Eagles were victorious, winning the game 21-17.

Hurts Dominates Giants
Hurts has played the Giants seven times in his short record career, going 4-2 in the regular season and 1-0 in the playoffs.
Here were the finishes during the regular season:
- Week 7, 2020: Eagles 22, Giants 21 (Hurts had just two carries)
- Week 10, 2020: Giants 27, Eagles 17 (Hurts had just two carries)
- Week 12, 2021: Giants 13, Eagles 7
- Week 16, 2021: Eagles 34, Giants 10
- Week 14, 2022: Eagles 48, Giants 22
- Week 18, 2022: Eagles 22, Giants 16
Finally, they played in the 2022-23 season postseason on their way to the Super Bowl. They destroyed the Giants, winning 38-7, and Hurts had 154 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, 34 rushing yards, and one rushing touchdown.

And the Commanders…
The Washington Commanders also tend to struggle against Hurts. Hurts has faced the Commanders seven times in his Eagles career, winning on five of those occasions.
Hurts Record Against The 49ers
The Eagles and 49ers were the only two teams that were 5-0 heading into Week 6 of the 2023-24 season. During the regular season, he’s 1-1 against them and beat them on the way to the Super Bowl in the previous postseason.
The regular season win came in Week 4 of 2020, but again, Hurts barely played, racking up just three carries. He didn’t start games until Week 14 of that year.
Fast-forward to 2021, Hurts, this time starting, lost 17-11. He completed 52.17% of his passes for 190 yards, ten carries, 82 rushing yards, and a rushing touchdown.
Now, the postseason win comes with plenty of controversy. In that game, 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy got hurt, forcing Josh Johnson into the game. Then, Johnson got hurt, forcing running back Christian McCaffrey to take some snaps until they got Purdy back into the game, only handing the ball off before having elbow surgery.

Hurts Record Against Cowboys
Another division rival for Hurts and the Eagles is the Cowboys. In 2020, Hurts appeared in Week 8 when they won 23-9. Later that year, in Week 16, Hurts started and lost 37-17. He completed 53.85% of his passes for 342 yards, one touchdown, two interceptions, and 69 rushing yards.
In 2021, he lost in Week 3, 41-21, throwing for 326 yards, two touchdowns, two interceptions, and 35 rushing yards.
The Eagles and Cowboys played in Week 18, but Hurts was inactive.
He was also inactive in Week 16 of the 2022 season but beat them in Week 6, passing for 155 yards, two touchdowns, and 27 rushing yards.
Hurts can go above .500 against them in Week 9 and Week 14 of the 2023-24 season.
