Gronk’s Kick of Destiny returns at Super Bowl 58 in Las Vegas this year. We reveal the time and location, plus where you can bet on it here.
Will Gronk make the Kick of Destiny at Super Bowl 58?
For the past decade or so, Rob Gronkowski’s been involved with just about every Super Bowl.
The now-retired, future Hall of Famer played in the game for five out of seven years. Winning four Super Bowls with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers while serving as Tom Brady’s favorite receiving target.
But after retiring in June 2022, Gronk needed a new means of being involved in the Super Bowl last February. He found it via “Gronk’s Kick of Destiny”, a FanDuel promotion that aired during Super Bowl 57.

When is this season’s Kick of Destiny?
The time and location of this season’s “Kick of Destiny” hasn’t been announced yet.
If last year is any indication, the kick will take place live during Super Bowl LVIII at a site not far from the game itself. Last season, Gronkowski’s kick aired during the first commercial break in the third quarter of the contest between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs.
This year’s Super Bowl is in Las Vegas. A perfect site for Gronk, who’s never been known to shy away from a good time.
What is Gronk’s Kick of Destiny?
Gronk’s Kick of Destiny is a FanDuel promotion to interact with fans during the broadcast of the Super Bowl.
Rob Gronkowski made his name as a tight end on the football field, but FanDuel offered a twist in their promotion: If the former star could make a 25-yard field goal, qualifying FanDuel customers would split a pool of $10 million worth of prizes!
In the days and weeks leading to the Super Bowl, FanDuel promoted the Kick of Destiny, assuring each customer who opted into the promotion and placed a wager of at least $5 on the Super Bowl would be eligible for a share of the prize money.

Who Takes the Kick of Destiny and Where?
It’s as simple as it sounds. The future Hall of Famer-turned-broadcaster, Rob Gronkowski, lines up for a 25-yard field goal on a makeshift football field near the site of the Super Bowl.
Last year’s game took place in Glendale, Arizona, at the home stadium of the Arizona Cardinals. After hosting a ‘beach party’ earlier that weekend in Scottsdale, Gronk proceeded to a small, makeshift football field for the Kick of Destiny, clearly situated somewhere in the nearby Arizona desert.
For this year’s Super Bowl 58 in Las Vegas, the possibilities are endless. Gronk might attempt the kick along the Strip or even on a well-known casino floor.
What happened Last Year? Did Gronk Make the Kick?
Last year, it appeared the promotion backfired as Gronk’s kick of destiny missed wide left.
Both during and after the Super Bowl, there was some controversy as to whether the field goal attempt was successful or not. Indeed, Gronk’s kick starts out dead center before hooking left and missing just outside the left upright.
From the commercial’s camera angle, however, you can certainly see where some viewers believed the kick was successful. Check it out here.
The “Kick of Destiny” Still Paid Out
All was not lost, however, as FanDuel honored the promotion despite the missed kick. As Gronk fell to the ground in disappointment, the commercial’s voiceover announced that qualifying customers would still receive a piece of up to $10 million in bonus bets.
The customers got their free bets. FanDuel successfully aired the first-ever live commercial in Super Bowl history. Everyone went home a winner – except poor Gronk, that is.

Can You Bet On the Kick of Destiny?
FanDuel offers opportunities to bet on the Kick of Destiny. Will Gronkowski convert the kick, or will he miss again?
There’s even the possibility of increased odds on prop bets, such as Gronk’s kick hitting one of the uprights or the crossbar.
As with many novelty-type bets, wagers on the Kick of Destiny could be subject to wagering limits.
While the specifics on the Kick of Destiny for Super Bowl 58 have yet to be announced, a competitor like Gronk is probably chomping at the bit to redeem himself. Last year, he told NFL Network’s Kay Adams that he wants another chance in the future!
We’ll have more details on this year’s Kick of Destiny as it approaches.
