Welp, although I was a greedy bastard and told you to bet the Under against Canada, a long with the USMNT Money Line, I’m always a fan of sweet revenge. Telling you to bet the USMNT to win at home, in Orlando Florida where Gregg Berhaltar thrives to coach, is the reason why you need to keep reading my fire. The USMNT beat Canada after the 34th minute when it was 3-0. “But Canada had more possession!” Bruh, because they had to restart the game an extra 4 times, making cute little passes in the back ultimately losing 4-1. Now Sam’s boys are heading south to play Cuba where they thrashed the Cubans 7-0 a month ago, and get the chance to win Group A of the CONCACAF Nations League. Will it be another thrashing?
PREVIEW
The motto for the USMNT after their victory against Canada was “The job’s not done.” This game will not be a picnic for the boys in red, white, and blue. The venue they are playing at is smaller than an average high school field where the grass is most likely going to be bumpy, uneven, and a shit hole to play professional soccer on. Luckily the weather forecast is saying it will stay dry on Tuesday night, otherwise we would have re-lived a Trinidad-esque game. That was an exaggeration because people care a little bit more about the World Cup than the Nations League, I would think. Their last fixture against Cuba, Jordan Morris was the show for the USMNT assisting three goals while netting in one himself. The only question remaining is, can the USMNT provide another goal fest without playmakers Bradley and Pulisic even though, statistically, they didn’t provide much in the 7-0 thrashing.
KEY STATS
- Previous Cuba results away: 0-2, 0-1, 1-4 (All USMNT Wins)
- Morris and Zardes are involved in at least one goal the last 2 of 3 games in all competitions
- The grass is very very bad
PREDICTION
If you feel like betting $3,335 to win $100, then I secretly hope you lose because that is a cocky move. But let’s get down to business. The USMNT will be all over the Cubans. All that really matters is who is bringing home the best cigar, the smoothest rum, and the classiest American car after the game. The USMNT will have to get used to the shitty terrain they are forced to pass the ball around to avoid unexpected mishaps, but I do not think this will be a thrashing as the oddsmakers are predicting it to be. I think scoring 5 goals away from home is ridiculously challenging, along with a shitty field. Did I mention the field is shitty? Bet the Under 4.5 Total Goals.
