The Colorado Avalanche look to even the series against the Dallas Stars after a come from behind win in Game 3 and ride the wave of momentum their offense created.
The Colorado Avalanched entered Game 3 in a 2-0 hole being thoroughly dominated by the Dallas Stars for 5 straight periods. They then commenced to play an instant classic that saw Dallas win the 1st period. Colorado dominate the 2nd. Then all mayhem broke loose in the 3rd that sawΒ bothΒ teams score 3 goals. That’s right, a 6-goal final period. It was one of the greatest hockey games I have ever seen. As long as you are not a huge defense/goaltending enthusiast. Look at this scoring break down:
For all those that love to see Chaos on Ice, it was your Citizen Kane. It was my Jerry Maguire as all 4 picks and every bet I placed but 1(Landeskog to score 3+ points) on this game hit. Bringing my picks this series all the way back above .500 to 7-6. I fully expect to keep cashing in on this Unstoppable Force.
The Av’s showed after the first period just why their offense is so dangerous. Both on or off the power-play. And a number has started to stand out, 89%. That’s the lowest save percentage by an Avalanche goaltender in a win, a .900+ save% is pretty much going to guarantee the opponent scores no more than 4 goals. This seems like a lot to most hockey-heads, but for this offense moving forward with a back-up goalie for the foreseeable future, albeit a good one, is all they need.
- Even though the O/U is at 6 I am still happy to take the over as the Colorado Avalanche alone has scored 6 or more goals in 3 out of their last 5 games. and Β Line courtesy of DraftKings:
- I am also happy to take the Moneyline in this one, line also via DraftKings:
Nathan MacKinnon has an 11-game scoring streak to set the all-time Colorado Avalanche record, that will be extended Sunday. Another line from DraftKings:
- Mikko Rantannen has at least 2 pts. in 3 out of the last 4 wins, and 4 out of the last 5 games overall by the Colorado Avalanche. I see him and MacKinnon to continue their magical connection. Our last line courtesy again of DraftKings:
I can’t say for certain I will go 4-0 for a second straight game, but I can say with gusto I am more than confident in each pick. This game reminds me of the Colorado Avalanche response to their first-round loss to the Arizona Coyotes. When a switch was flipped and they dominated to close out the series. They again, cannot win in 5, but I no longer think it will take 7 either.
