Jason Radowitz is 4-1 in his College GameDay Game of the Week Best Bets. Here’s his best bet for the match-up between (5) LSU and (7) Florida.
Alright… I took an L last week. Still 4-1 on College GameDay Best Bets. We’ll try to start a new streak this week as College Gameday comes to Baton Rouge, LA for (5) LSU against (7) Florida.Â
Florida
All year we’ve complained about Florida not being tested. They got their test against Auburn and ran with it. They allowed an Auburn team that scored at will against Miss State just 13 points the entire game at the swamp. An impressive showing from their defense.
Kyle Trask, filling in for Feleipe Franks, is doing enough to get by. He passed for 234 yards on 19 completions in 31 attempts. He got banged up during the game but was able to finish the game and get the victory.
LSU
LSU’s first test came against Texas during Week 2 of the season. They’ve put up 40+ points in each game of the season so far. The offense looks unstoppable.
And bad news for Florida’s offense, LSU’s defense is starting to heat up after limiting Utah State, a top offensive team, to just six points last week at home. It seemed like good prep/practice for LSU for this game specifically.
Joe Burrow is having a Heisman-like season. He’s in the running for Heisman currently. Florida would be the team to put a stop to Burrow’s offensive explosion. The Tigers know when to turn it on and when to stay balanced offensively. There will be more possessions in this game and that only favors LSU at this point.
Betting Pick
Florida might’ve upset Auburn at home but they’re not going to pull this upset on the road. Auburn’s offense is led by a freshman QB that has limited experience. Auburn is one-dimensional. LSU is not. They’ve turned into an offensive powerhouse. Florida’s defense won’t be able to stop this offense or keep up with LSU. LSU is scoring on two minute drives. Maybe Florida will keep it to three minute touchdown drives. I’ll take LSU -13.5.
