The Kansas City Chiefs are favorites to become Super Bowl winners for a second year in a row at the sportsbooks as we look ahead to the rest of the season.
Sunday marked the end of the NFL regular season. Despite a meaningless 38-21 loss to the Chargers, the Kansas City Chiefs have earned themselves a bye to the second round.
The Packers join the Chiefs as number 1 seeds from their respective conferences and these franchises are the top two favorites to lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy on February 7, as expected.
Taking a look at the sportsbook odds, the Chiefs are clear favorites be crowned Super Bowl winners for a second consecutive year. They are +220 at FanDuel, +225 at DraftKings and +190 at William Hill. All of the sportsbooks are tipping them to win it. Here are the odds at FanDuel:

As we all know, one of the key contributing factors to the Chiefs’ low odds is due to their quarterback. Patrick Mahomes helped his side to a 14-2 regular season record, with Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce and Clyde Edwards-Helaire amongst other notable performers. Their offensive firepower combined with experience of winning Super Bowl 54 is enough to make them sportsbook favorites.
However, you could argue that Chiefs Super Bowl winners odds averaging around +200 is not great value for money. Their defensive unit has been tested quite a few times this season and the Chiefs’ average winning margin was just 3.9 points in the second half of the season. Any strong offensive team will fancy their chances.
With the Bills, Steelers, Titans and Ravens to overcome in the NFC, the Chiefs arguably have a tougher road to the Super Bowl than the Packers, who are second-favorites.
With the NFL Playoffs approaching, it is an exciting time to be a Football fan. It will be interesting to see if Kansas City can become the eighth franchise to be crowned back-to-back Super Bowl winners.
