Bruins vs. Blues Preview

We are back in the win column as we improve to 3-1 this series! The Blues did in fact bounce back in Game 4 just as I had predicted, and it was a great opportunity to bet against the public.

The storyline for the Blues all postseason is never giving up and always somehow being able to bounce back and win with their backs against the wall. Binnington has been a big part of this as well where he never seems to have 2 bad games in a row. St. Louis played energized and desperate and they controlled that entire game. They still need to fix some sloppy play at times, but overall, they look like they’re back to playing great Blues hockey. Ryan O’Reilly had the game of his career notching the 1st goal of the game and the 3rd goal for the Blues which let them take the lead late in the 3rd period.

The Bruins got a little beat up and were playing awfully slow at times in that game. Veteran Defenseman Zdeno Chara got a puck to the face and is questionable for Game 5 as well. The Bruins were in a wonderful spot to go up 3-1 and potentially close out this series, but they were just outplayed plain and simple. They scored a shorthanded goal in the 2nd which made everyone think that the Bruins would sneak away with another victory in St. Louis, but they couldn’t capitalize in the 3rd period. The Bruins will have to get their act together before they hit the ice for Game 5, and maybe seeing their own fans will give them the boost they need on their home ice.

This has been a terrific series to say the least, and we all should be on the edge of our seats during Game 5 which should be the most crucial game of this series. Both teams have the opportunity to go up 3-2 and change the narrative for the entire series. After all, the team that wins game 5 in a 2-2 series goes on to win 72% of the time. In this make or break game, the question remains. Who will buckle down and pull out the victory in Game 5?

Bruins vs. Blues Prediction

This has been one hell of a series and I am enjoying every second of it. Both teams are trading blows and winning every other game to make it extremely hard to predict who will win the next. However, the public seems to be backing the Bruins in every game no matter what. The Blues have a nice price at +138 and in an even series I think I am going to have to lean in that direction, especially since the Blues are better on the road. To add on to that, 2 of the Bruins top defenseman in Matt Grzelcyk and Zdeno Chara could both be out for Game 5. If that is the case I will 100% lay the juice with St. Louis. But, even with both of them healthy I will still lean towards St. Louis, who seem to be always fighting for dear life and somehow always managing to win games when we think they are down for the count. Go against the public again here and take the Blues at +138.
