AmericanBettingExperts go 5-0 in NFL Week 5!

We recap on Week 5 of the NFL, which saw us achieve a 100% win record on our picks.

The NFL is never boring, is it? Week 5 raised the bar for entertainment value, with a number of notable events;

  • Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones became the first player ever to rush for four touchdowns in one game against the Dallas Cowboys.
  • The Houston Texans fell just four short of the team record for points scored in a game after beating the Atlanta Falcons 53-32. This was also the 1051st unique score in NFL history!
  • Kansas City Chiefs lost 13-19 to the Indianapolis Colts, leaving the 49ers and the Patriots as the two remaining undefeated teams in the NFL this season.

However, AmericanBettingExperts were more focused on their picks over the weekend and they certainly delivered.

Our Weekend Picks

Pick 1: Ravens -2.5

Final score: Baltimore Ravens 26 – 23 Pittsburgh Steelers

While the Ravens played far from a perfect game, luckily for us their ability to play complementary football was the main reason why they defeated the Steelers. Pittsburgh is now 1-4 and in third place in the AFC North, while the 3-2 Ravens could be alone in first place if the Browns fail to beat the San Francisco 49ers in Monday Night Football.

Pick 2: Patriots -15.5

Final score: Washington Redskins 7 – 33 New England Patriots

Kicker Mike Nugent didn’t have the best game in a Patriots jersey, but this didn’t affect the overall result of the game as the Redskins were the next team to fall at the hands of the Super Bowl champions. An impressive third-quarter display contributed to a comfortable Patriots win.

Pick 3: Cardinals +3

Final score: Cincinnati Bengals 23 – 26 Arizona Cardinals

A strong start for the Bengals saw more rushed yards for the Arizona outfit on the opening drive than they had averaged per game all season up to Sunday. However, the Bengals rallied and pulled out a dramatic first win of the season.

Pick 4: Eagles -13.5

Final score: Philadelphia Eagles 31 – 6 New York Jets

The Eagles put in a dominant defensive performance on Sunday, with 10 quarterback sacks, three interceptions and two touchdowns. However, this was expected, as the Jets are 0-4 and missing their young franchise quarterback Sam Darnold. To put the Jets’ poor performances into perspective, their touchdown against the Eagles was just the second they’ve scored on offense all season.

Pick 5: Vikings -5

Final score: New York Giants 10 – 28 Minnesota Vikings

Without their top two inside linebackers, it was apparent from the start that the Giants were no match for the Vikings as they could barely get their offense the ball. A previously struggling Vikings offense compiled 351 total yards, and quarterback Kirk Cousins completed 19 of 23 passes for 278 yards and a touchdown in the first half alone. A comfortable Sunday for the Vikings.

A hugely successful weekend of picks for our AmericanBettingExperts guys. If you are not following our picks, then better start now!
